Cleo Arkley and Jules Haslock were best friends, just out of college and living together in the city to start their new adult lives. But then came the invasion day, when the people in black suits and cloaks tore through the city with weapons and technology that no one had ever seen. They killed hundreds, injured thousands - but in the wake of the invasion, a few people were affected in very different ways, and found themselves with abilities beyond their understanding. Cleo and Jules were two of these people. With their newfound abilities, both make a decision - Jules wants to use his powers to save others, while Cleo has to use her powers for something far more personal. Soon enough, they have new identities, new lives, and are known as the Hero and the Villain of the city...but how will they both juggle having two different lives, and lying to their best friend about their odd disappearances?
