Ethereal is a spiritual fiction with human resources and thriller influences. The events of the novel take place in Sweden, mostly in the village of Tyresta. The intoxicated soon to be adult, Mikael, sets foot into the forests one April night aimlessly, where he witnesses incidents that have a deep impact upon him. Mikael makes his mind to find a decent explanation to these events, when the events of the novel take a more realistic turn, as the only explanation itself, finds him.
