Penelope burrows herself in the shelter that is her mind; both figuratively and literally. It's come to be both a blessing and a curse.
Luuk is burdened by the demons that exists within his mind and has no way to overcome the darkness that's overtaking him.
Two internalizers in their own right come together when Luuk suddenly transfers to Penelope's school on a foreign exchange program.
Penelope: sarcastic, quiet, studious, and severely misunderstood, bonds with Luuk: a Dutch, artistic, reserved, mysterious foreigner, through a series of random chance encounters.
As the two begin to learn the puzzle that is love for the very first time maybe they'll also learn to live, and enjoy life, and remove themselves from the abyss that is the human mind.
