Joshua Williams was the Beta in his pack and, besides of the Alpha, the strongest wolf in it. He was really capable at fighting and at hunting; he was good looking and had a family that loved him. He knew that he had many women were trying to catch his eye. But he had always dreamed of meeting his mate. The mate that the forest’s and the moon’s spirits had destined to be his. Sadly, he was running out of time. Rules said that he could wait until his 25 but no more.
One day, while going to pick up his younger sister Amelia, he meets Victoria Samuels and know that he had finally find her, the one he has been waiting for the past 24 years. And he feels as the luckiest man in the world… even if she is a human.
The pack’s Alpha, Allistair McLean, doesn’t seems to agree. Even if he won’t forbid him to relate with the shy girl, he doesn’t believe is a good thing for his friend. Differently from wolfs, humans didn’t feel the effects of the mate bond. At least, not immediately. Humans needed to develop the bond among time but nothing said for sure that they would do it at the end. He didn’t want his best friend since childhood to suffer something like that.
Allistair, as an Alpha, could enjoy a few benefits. One of them was to avoid the rule that forced every male wolf to pick a mate in his 25 birthday if he hasn’t found his destined one for that time. He had excused himself with the duties of being the Alpha but truth was that he was waiting for her to appear, just like Joshua’s did. That was the only pack’s law that he allowed himself to break. He fulfilled all his duties and responsibilities as he had been taught to.
Little did he know that he was going to break one of the Alpha’s role most important rules: to never fell for a rogue.
