DawnClan is close to falling apart and dying out. To follow, the other Clans. A threat is rising, planning to take the Clans by force, destroying them and becoming the ultimate victors. Cloudstar then receives a prophecy, something that hasn't happened for generations. It tells of a savior, but the leader is forbidden to speak of the prophecy; worse, she doesn't even remember.
Now with nothing, she is struggling to keep her Clan alive and in tact. The attackers have gone once, but next time, with numbers dwindling despite green-leaf and plentiful food, they will not survive. Stand strong, Cloudstar says. But she's not sure those two words will even work for them.

All she'll be able to do is cause pain, more pain, and even more pain. But it's not so easy, especially when she's got herself tangled in the ropes of the darkness. Suddenly, she realizes that she's no better than Applefoot. Paired with slowly falling hopelessly in love with a cat who never is clear with her, breaking free of her dark insides is seeming harder and harder. If she can't do it, then she'll never be able to see the face of good again. She'll be another apprentice gone wrong, and all she'll be remembered for is darkness. Sunpaw can't let that happen. But unless she figures out how to cut herself free from the darkness, then it will happen. And there will be nothing she can do it about it.Complete

She's much more intelligent than any other cat, she's sassy, and an annoyance. They have half a mind to kick her out, but at the same time, they would never put the deputy's sister in the dangers of being a loner. That's the difference about DrizzleClan and its fellow bordering clans: the rogues are savages that will murder any lone cat in cold blood if they don't join up with the growing Rogue band.
