SUMMARY: Cherry loved poetry and writing; she met Hannah Baker at one of the poetry meetings she had been going to with her friend Ryan since freshman year. Then Hannah's gone, just like that, and Cherry blames herself for not seeing the signs.
Things at school start to heat up; her once brutally sarcastic and witty friend Ryan isn't so snappy anymore, Jessica Davis' party last summer wasn't as she remembered, and football players are beginning to talk to her after years of not even a glance. Her life intertwines with Alex Standall's again, and Monet's is no longer home to happy memories of shared drinks with Hannah. Curiosity arises and Cherry takes to writing as she discovers just what it is that's bringing these new acquaintances together, especially to her.
