"If you're lucky to have the finest of genes, then you're perfect." Paragon is known to be the haven of perfection. A society built on walls, dividing different cities for people with different genetic levels. Perfect citizens will be automatically relocated to the innermost city where a luxurious life awaits. The unfortunate ones, however, will be placed in a city of their corresponding level where each individual is given a chance to climb up to perfection by earning utility scores. For a Defective like Cole Lancer, it's a different story. 🏆2nd Place Constellation Awards 2020 (Science Fiction Category)

HE HAS NO CHOICE. SOMETIMES, DOING WHAT'S RIGHT MEANS RUNNING AWAY. Earth was once in chaos, divided between hundreds of warring nations. Now, united in peace and maintained through a worldwide computer system known as the GRID, the Global Fellowship provides all citizens free access to food, housing, education, and medical care. In return, citizens allow the GRID to use their brains as temporary servers. Those who don't contribute are the disconnected, shirkers who live destitute and on the edge of starvation in a world where GRIDcoin is beyond their reach. After his parents' sudden death, Arthur Mallorey, a severely-disabled teenager living in the largest shirker camp in Central Continent, knows he has to find a way for him and his sister to survive. Battling pain and exhaustion, he looks for salvation in the very heart of the Community he was raised to fear. Ranked as high as #4 in Genetics, #8 in Global, and #2 in #EhlersDanlosSyndrome. This piece is a prelude novelette for my upcoming 2020 SciFi (cyberpunk), Dystopian novel - Infinitus. This book will also soon be available in print and e-book. All rights reserved.
