Heo Chunhwa is the youngest granddaughter of the last king of Geumgwan Gaya who became a rank one ministry official supporting the Silla royal family after Geumgwan Gaya submitted to Silla's colonization.
She grew up together with Sam Maekjong and Princess Sookmyung and was sent together with Sam Maekjong into hiding. The two spent 3 years hiding together until Chunhwa had to be sent to the North to cure a life threatening illness.
8 years later, when Heo Chunhwa returns to Silla to look for Sam Makjeong--- her childhood friend and first love, she gets into an entangled mess with Silla's most beautiful men who call themselves Hwarang.
