Mystery
Lily Calvinson grew up on a compound that would later be described as "the cult of the century." Followers were taught obedience, that God was their enemy, and any interaction or affiliation with churches, Bibles, or Christians could be punishable by death. Raised by the leader of such a massive following, Lily was expected to uphold and enforce the law more so than others. When a stranger steps in and introduces Lily to the forbidden beliefs, she must learn to hide her growing faith in God and protect her true identity passed down from birth. Tension builds, love is lost, death reaps, and Lily disappears. At 25 years of age, Lily now lives with her Aunt Mae, both in protective custody, waiting to testify in the trial against the very cult that left her scarred both physically and emotionally. Before the trial is over, Lily will have to relive every painful moment of her old life if she wants an opportunity at a new life and for justice to be served. Even then, it may not be enough. http://www.wattpad.com/59443710-the-undiscovered-gems-competition-ugc-2014-5-gold (Gold UGC Winner 2014)

When evidence of an eighty-year-old murder is discovered, Sarah becomes convinced that the victim is trying to give her a message or perhaps, even a warning. But how could any of it be connected, and most importantly, what is there for her to be afraid of in sweet-as-(pumpkin spice) pie New Bedford? * * * CONTENT WARNING: This story has discussions and depictions of certain themes that some readers may find triggering.
