For seventeen year old Hunter White, life hasn't been all rainbows and sunshine. Having alcoholic parents who work all day and drink all night, she has become fiercely independent, is always quiet, and never asks for help. Being bullied since the sixth grade has ruined any chance of her making friends, which has prevented people from seeing her random, weird, energetic, and adrenaline-junkie side.
For seventeen year old Xaviar Reed, girls are meant to be banged and dumped. Due to an incident from his past, he never has let himself become involved with love because in the end it will only hurt you.

Annie Hunter was a normal girl. Ever since she was bullied back in middle school, she has never been herself after that. Over the summer Annie came up with an idea. Mask. Now that she's starting high school, every day she would wear a mask. She not only decided to wear the mask to school but also at home. She wouldn't talk to her mom but she does listen to her. Her mom would get worried all the time and call a therapist to try and help her but it's just not helping. One day her English teacher assigned a project to the whole class. They needed a partner in order to start the project. She sat at a desk at the back of the class next to Chance Beckett, one of the most popular guys in freshman year, who she is partnered with. Chance is popular but he is not like his friends who would bully others. He is more of the friendly type, but Annie does not know that. Chance wants to be more than just partners doing a project together. He wants to be friends with Annie. He also wants to know what's hiding behind the mask. 3 years ago, my Step Dad adopted a son. His name was Hunter. For 13 years of his life, Hunter was neglected and abused by his parents. Beaten and raped, Hunter knew nothing good of the world. His Father eventually became a socio-path and shot the Mother. But as he was about to kill Hunter, Police arrived. The Dad shot himself instead. Hunter is now 16 and has been living in my family for 3 years. It's an understatement to say that we don't get along. Hunter is just angry at the world. He drinks and smokes and swears and fights. He kicks me and punches me simply because he's scared. He pushes everyone away. He has flashbacks and nightmares and can't seem to take anymore. Though I know he has reasons for being such an inconsiderate asshole, I still hate him. Our family has now moved to Cyprus. We're only staying for a while, so we just got a small appartment. Bad part about that? It's got 2 rooms. Me and Hunter have to share. At first I hate it. But then over the weeks, I begin to see how broken Hunter Storm really is. He's not just a dick, he's scared. And I'm slowly starting to comfort him through his troubles. We're getting somewhere, but then the worst possible thing happens. But strangley, it's bringing us closer. He's sleeping in my bed, he's crying to me, he's holding my hand. I'm holding him at night, I'm wearing his hoodies, I'm smiling at his touch. "That it's just as annoying as you." I laughed. SUMMARY: After the death of her father, Blake moves in with her estranged mother and twin sister. Coping with her father's death was one thing and being involved in dirty work is another. Add a bad boy to fall for on her plate and things can't be more messed up. She tries to start a new life but ghosts from her past just aren't ready to leave her. Question is, can she make it through and have a happy ending or not?
