This is a short story I wrote for my Creative Writing Fiction class based on a prompt in which we were asked to "draft a scene or story in which a character does something that is surprising, but, at the same time, in keeping with their character".

She isn't sure if there can be two great loves in one life but she has a feeling if she does Eric just might be the man for the job. **I wrote Love Metamorphosis years ago after reading an article about a woman who lost her husband-to-be on their wedding day. It moved me so much that I felt the urge to write an entire fictional story based solely on the idea of what a person would go through if the happiest day of their life suddenly became the worst. My immediate thought was I hope she choose to live and love again if the opportunity arose to marry someone else. Thus Love Metamorphosis was born. Certainly they could trust that those in power ultimately had the best interests of the people in mind, right? ~~~ Luna slouched low in her seat, staring at droplets of water that ran diagonally down the window of the bus. The sky was a flat, depressing grey and the incessant, soaking rain left her constantly chilled. It was a typical "liquid sunshine" day in the Pacific Northwest. They drove past a single tall scraggly tree on top of a hill shrouded in mist. The creepy tree was full of screaming crows. How could she hear them from inside the bus when she couldn't even seem to hear the voices of the kids around her? Geez, that was an awfully freaking dark image. She shivered and looked away. What did they call a group of crows again? Right, a murder of crows. Perfect. The weather was certainly the only thing that was typical these days, although you'd never know it by looking around the bus at most of the kids as they sat joking and gossiping with each other just like they had before... before that day everything had changed. Idiots.

Except for the fact that I'm kinda, sorta... On the run. Sometimes, people refer to me as the girl who speaks to birds. And I guess I am. ***Highest Ranking: #95 (8-28-15)*** I wrote this when I was 11 - 12, it definitely has its flaws, I am aware of them. All the same, people enjoy this book, so I'm keeping it up.
