Anastasia lives a simple life with her step father and dear friend, Rowan. However, when her step father passes away, leaving her and Rowan with enigmatic letters about impending danger, Anastasia finds herself on the run to find a man she doesn't even know. As she tries to put together the pieces of her step father's words, Anastasia is immersed in a world of chaos that hinges on her own tragic past. Her only chance at salvation is to find those who will fight by her side - her chevaliers. 


Rowan has grown up alongside Anastasia ever since he could remember. Trained from birth to be her lifelong protector, he often finds himself in precarious situations to keep the naive, spitfire of a girl safe from her enemies. However, when another man assumes Anastasia's protection and maybe even her heart, Rowan finds himself battling with his own demons. Will he be able to face them or will he be consumed by his jealousy?
