He was a little out of breath... he looked at me and said 'I love you Ariana... I mean it and I felt it all night, before this happened. You are perfect in every way possible.. I... I can't believe you're real.' Tears were streaming down my face.....
That was December 4, 2012... the night they met. The night Maciana began.
This is a reality based book, blended with fanfic. Most of their real life events are woven throughout. There are 24 extra long parts instead of 66 short ones like most stories, including a 3 part alternative ending.
Follow their 6 year love story and journey while they secretly saw each other while being involved in other relationships, went for almost a year without speaking after Mac moved to NYC, to when they became a couple in the summer of 2016 and Mac moved back to LA. Through the tragedy of Manchester... to when their breakup was announced in early May 2018, when Ariana became engaged to Pete Davidson after a month of dating and finally.. sadly................ when Mac was found dead of an overdose in his home on September 7, 2018.
I so wish there was a different ending than Malcolm dying. But there isn't. It's a sad, tragic reminder that life is very short and fragile. Reach out to someone you know is hurting. Keep reaching, even if they don't want to be reached. Research shows a text can be the difference between life and death.... even if they don't answer.
Be kind. Love each other. You never know what someone is really going through, especially if they hide it well.
It's what Malcolm would have wanted us to do.
*cover photo was posted on a fan IG in July 2020, the same day an unreleased Mac & Ari collab also leaked called "Talk to Me." Mac has a verse in the song about positions, which was the name of Ari's album released a few months later.
