I felt lost for air, as I had just realised, it all suddenly making sense. My eyes began to get watery as I avoided his gaze, grabbing the notepad and pastel pen, writing a few words down. I bit my lip as I turned it over, looking into his dumbfounded eyes which suddenly changed, he became still. He nodded and I mouthed, “I didn’t know, I had no idea. I’m sorry” He wrapped me in an embrace, it was strange. I should’ve been the one to comfort him, yet the notepad fell out of my hands, along with the pastel pen now on the floor as I held him tight.
