When the world started, it was in peace. There were creatures of all kinds that could live easily together. But, places can never stay perfect. As there is light, so there is darkness. Darkness will always come when there is light, because a shadow wouldnβt exist if there was no source to shine down on something. Without that light, there would be no shadow. Without light, there would be nothing, and with light, there is darkness. The world cannot change that, it can only hope to stay in harmony for the longest amount of time possible. When something comes to tip the scales, there is nothing anybody can do but watch in fear or try and balance it back. So, when the infection came, some wished for it to heal itself, and some, unknowingly, set off to try and stop it from spreading.
A global pandemic has seen so many people separated from love ones, families spread, torn, missing each other. Yet, in this separation, in this darkness that is the world, her light keeps shinning. It always did.
The only difference is that it's lighting up my phone screen this time instead.
Can two souls find each other again after so much time? Can the distance actually bring them closer together?
Or has just too much happened, too much history, too much time, heartbreak, pain. Is there a need to reopen old wounds?
Is it worth it?
To cross that distance, to find her light again?
