Primrose, as far as she is concerned, is with content with her lot in life. Having spent the last 5 years of her life as the resident witch for a sleepy village not large enough to name, she is simply content to merely practice her craft. However, something is happening to her, and it's not something she can ignore.
To make matters worse, she's accused of heresy, and for a crime she didn't commit, let alone knew existed. The King intervenes, only to threaten her with the same should she refuse his offer. One doesn't refuse a king, and so she has little choice but to comply.
Her problems are only complicated when a masked man insists on accompanying her and won't take no for an answer.
