Mara is one of the newest graduate students at John Hopkins university. Wanting to recreate the love story of how her two parents met, she becomes a nurse for her country's armed forces. 

She is met with a soldier who's in rough shape. His body has been burned, cut, bruised, broken, and most importantly his, leg was amputated; she will be his nurse until he can fully healed and his physical therapist until he can walk and his body is used to the change of not having a leg.
