Seventeen year old Aurelia lived in a dangerous world, where it was either to kill or to be killed, but since she is a girl she had to sit back and let the men handle it. She is a woman and therefore she isn't suited to be a hunter. Aurelia hated the way the women weren't allowed to hunt like the men and one day she decided to defy those norms.
When it is time to choose the new students for the Hunter Academy, Aurelia poses as a man to try to get in. This is dangerous and probably against the law...even though she has never heard of anyone doing such a thing before. Each thing has a first, right?
