New World is about the hundred-or-so colonists of Mars, led by Marcus Rosenthal, as they discover why they haven't been contacted by the Earth in months. They are helped on their quest by humanity's first successful artificial intelligence, ASTER. An attempt at hard science fiction. Mystery. Something.
Basically an unedited one-shot short story for a two-week class I took. Finalist for the 2017 DragonComet Short Story Contest (Young Writers Division). I really don't like it and I don't consider it my best work, but give it a read anyway. Cheers!

In order to embark on a mission to discover alien life on the icy moon of Jupiter Maria must leave her life on Earth behind, including her father and her seven-year-old son Diego. She thought the hardest part of the mission would be saying goodbye, but little does she know what awaits her and her crew on Europa, an environment that has never been explored from the surface until this mission. Perhaps alien life was never meant to be explored by humans... Will she fulfill her promise to her father and son to make it home alive, or will she fail to make good on that promise like her mother did when she was a little girl? Note: This story was written during a challenge to write an entire book in one week! She can accept an offer from an infuriating gen-eng man from Venus, grab her loyal cat + dig up her inner rebel and maybe become the first human to explore the Galaxy. OR she can keep flying security on the cruise space ships. Did I mention the man from Venus has an unbearable personality and nearly got her killed on Jupiter? Daaaamn! I got cocky and wrote a space opera, yes, with aliens and fast spaceships. Become a part of the audience so small, it's exclusive! First published: long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Matriarchy: No Need For Men.
Chapter 2: World War III (Running!!) Men are gone. Women rule. Imagine a world where men no longer matter-would you survive the matriarchy? What happens when feminism goes too far? This book explores the consequences of a future where the natural balance between men and women collapses. Feminism, having transcended all boundaries, reshapes humanity into a female-centered species. Men, stripped of purpose, exist as relics of the past, serving only as pets in a system that mirrors a hive, where women reign supreme. Biologically, mothers are the gatekeepers of life. Historically, survival forced men and women into partnership-men as protectors and providers, sometimes oppressors, while women adapted to survive under natural pressures. But when humanity masters nature, this necessity vanishes. With no war, famine, or struggle, cooperation dissolves. Robots and AI take over all labor, while science frees women from biological dependence on men, allowing reproduction through stem-cell technology. Men are no longer needed for survival, yet they are not entirely discarded, kept instead as sentimental pets. This is the final form of feminism: a system that abandons equality under the guise of progress, reducing men to a perpetual loop of servitude. Matriarchy: No Need for Men critiques a future where dominance replaces balance, and ideology supersedes the natural truths of human existence. It is a stark warning, not only for men but for all who value the delicate equilibrium that defines humanity.
