"Defy what they told you. The longer you stay here, the easier you become their prisoner." Devonny is the daughter of Elvera, a healer who survived during a magical war that killed hundreds. She is raised in a village isolated from the real world to immortalize her gift for healing. While Devonny's ability is valuable, she desires nothing more than to help in the ongoing battles outside of her safe home. Ayiwin, Devonny's friend, encourages her to join him on a quest to enter the "dangerous" world they've only heard stories of. He claims they'll be heroes, but Ayiwin has a secret even he is not aware of. Unlike everyone else in the village, he does not have the ability to heal. As a cruel man plots to destroy the healer's peaceful community, Devonny betrays everything she knows to be sacred. While hiding a secret that could damage her friendship, Devonny risks everything to save a world she knows nothing of. "From this point on forget the life we lived. This place is nothing like the home we knew."
