High in the mountains is safer than most places in a zombie filled world, but it comes at a cost. The winter storms are harsh, and packed snow can let the shambling hordes circumvent the fortified walls. A tale of survival where the elements are as much a threat as the undead.

Note:
First Chapter written for a 100 word challenge, and I was inspired to write each subsequent chapter also of no more than 100 words.

In a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by the undead, Winter Ransom, a young and fiercely determined survivor, embarks on a perilous journey to escape the oppressive colony of New Denver. As she navigates the treacherous landscape, Winter crosses paths with Crow, a skilled and enigmatic Officer who has sworn to protect her, even though there is a price on her head. Despite their initial mistrust, the two form an unlikely bond, with Crow becoming Winter's ally in her quest for survival. Together, they brave the unforgiving terrain, avoiding hordes of ravenous Infected and hostile human factions vying for power. Their journey takes them to the remote mountains of Telluride, a fabled safe haven that promises refuge from the chaos. Winter must confront the darkness within herself and the world around her, all while facing the ultimate question: what does it mean to survive in a world that's lost its humanity?
