What if things were diffrent in the 75th Hunger Games. Peeta is drawn in the Reapings... and Haymitch volenteers. District 12's tributes are Haymitch Abernathy and Katniss Everdeen.
Haymitch is killed in the bloodbath and Katniss teams up with only one person, Finnick Odair. The one that, in this case, has earned her trust because they both have a person back home that they love.
They break apart when there are eight left, hoping that eight is enough to keep them from being the final two. It's not. They meet at the Cornicopia, day twelve, and before Katniss can fire her bow, a trident sails through her heart.
"Sorry Katniss." whispers Finnick, "I had to get back to Annie."

Haymitch is a grandfather because he married Katniss's mom after all they went through. Katniss and Peeta's kids are very different. Diana is like Katniss and has her skills with a bow and arrow and hunting. She has her father's talent with a sword, painting, and baking. Finnick on the other hand is like his aunt Prim and grandmother. He likes to take care of people. The story starts with Diana as a seventeen-year-old on the day of the reaping of the 99th hunger games. The Mellarks have a track record for being in love with their district partner. Will it happen again with one of their kids. Also Katniss, Peeta and Haymitch don't have to be mentors. I don't own the characters of the original hunger games. I give the credit of their characters to Suzanne Collins.
