April 22, 2013, Chase and Nicala Summers were victums of a hit and run. Nicala woke up the next day with a fractured wrist, a cut around her eye, and the knowledge that she was the only one who survived.

Five months later, Nicala and her father pack up and move to a small beach town in Florida. With the loss of her brother and the silence of her father, Nicala turns to the party scene to distract her from her issues, searching for only a good time, not love.

But what happens when Carter Samuels, the infamous town playboy, starts to fall in love with her? Will he be able to break through to the real Nicala and make her fall in love with him too, or will she just push him away, insisting that she's only bad news?
