"My name is Julianna. I am fourteen years old, and I have been on this planet for 1 year. We've created civilization, we have poverty, we have wealth, we have a middle class, just as the old world." In the year 2478, Julianna is a 14 year old girl. She doesn't fit in on this new planet, where she has one friend, a mother, and a brother. Her father died a few months before Julianna and her family were scheduled a shuttle to the new world, in a parallel universe. Scientists had found the rift, but it was on the opposite side of the galaxy from Earth. It would take 4 days using the shuttles they had built to get to the rift, and another week to travel to the new world. But Julianna's shuttle crashed. More than 50 people, stuck on an empty planet, with next to nothing. There are dangerous creatures, almost no water, no electricity, little timber. Bbt somehow, some way, Julianna's shuttle has survived for a whole year, with no communication to anybody, except the rare occasion when the shuttle gets some static, indicating that a shuttle is passing above. That only happens once a year, for just seconds. March 29, 2478 was exactly a year after the shuttle crashed, and the date of another, just yards away from Julianna's. Could it be, there is some sort of force causing engine breakdowns, forcing shuttles onto the planet?
