I remember the morning like it was yesterday. I had stepped out onto my porch to get the morning paper for my roommate. As I walked I heard a crunch underneath my feet and I looked down. A single daisy laid on the wooden porch. My breath quickened and I looked around my block to see if anyone was around. I grabbed the paper and went inside unsure of what to do. I checked the date and counted back to the day he was officially put into prison for his crimes. It had been exactly 10 years the day before. He was out. And now I had to watch my back.

SHADOW
All I wanted was him. His eyes were like starlight, everything about him made me so uncomfortable but that didn't change the fact that he was the one I wanted. I should have known better at the time. Maybe that feeling of danger should have made me run a different way but I didn't, I ran towards him even when he pushed me away. "CHARLIE!" His screams were getting closer until I saw him completely. I grabbed the knife and pointed it straight at him. "Get away from me!" He roughly picks me up and drags me to the room. He yanked me away from him making me fall hit my knee on the hard wood floor. He walked in the bathroom to get something and I realized it something to put me to sleep. He poured the chemical into the towel as he mumbled to himself and I watched in fear. He pulled me from the ground and tried to make me breathe in. I fought the urge to. I thrashed back and forth trying to get free but nothing worked.
