Basically it's based off of Green Day albums, most notably their 2nd rock opera 21st Century Breakdown. There's a couple OC's in here, but mostly the characters are based off of songs which bear the character's name or nickname, or information provided in either Broadway Idiot or any album. It's a weird concept, I know, but hopefully it'll make for an interesting story. I don't know how long it's gonna go on for, and these were all typed in Google Docs, so sorry if the formatting is weird. At 14, Maxine escapes with a guitar, a phone charger, and years worth of reasons to never look back. Hiding out in Berkeley with a friend, she discovers something impossible: her life has been built on a lie, and the truth leads straight to Billie Joe Armstrong. Her father. When Billie and his wife find her, they don't just offer shelter, but they offer something Maxine has never had. But she's spent too long learning that safety is temporary and adults are dangerous. Music was her only constant, her survival mechanism, the one thing that couldn't hurt her. Now the man whose songs kept her alive is her father, and Maxine has no idea how to let that happen. Between panic attacks triggered by flannel shirts and brothers who don't understand why their new sister flinches at loud noises, Maxine has to unlearn everything her past taught her. Billie has to figure out how to parent a kid who's already raised herself. And somewhere in the mess of failed dinners and 3 AM nightmares, they have to decide if broken things can be loved as they are, or if healing is the price of belonging. Some families are born. Some are built. This one has to be both. (sidenote: billie's wife AND tre's wife are ocs from different fanfics! thats why they aren't listed by name!!!)
