In a world where life can change at any moment due to its crime rates, lies, and hidden secrets, Dakota Roberts becomes the center of it all when all the sudden her life goes from studying to get into the college of her dreams to her having to overcome the murder of her mother which leaves her all by herself at the age of 17. Restless and betrayed, she sets out meeting many of who might stay or go as she ventures on the, what seems life-lasting, journey to find her mothers killers. Those of whom she may or my not have to look very hard to find and have actually found very much interest in Dakota and her 'rarity'.
