They weren't kidding. Infected with pestilence. Diseases. Sickness. Virus. No matter what you call it they're all the same. Zombies for a better word. We call them The Plagued.  Undead people walking this earth feasting on the flesh of the healthy created by creatures called converts. I had a normal life before The Plagued arose when myself and my brother Vance are called to join the hunt for these monsters.  Things in the new life become complicated when, eventually, I become closer to Trey, a hunter like myself.  I try to set boundaries, even knowing there is a possibility I may never be able to be with my husband again, but gorgeous Trey makes it pretty hard.  Now I need to decide between my past, and my future, and taking down the undead sounds easier right about now..........

When officers arrived they shot the 'zombie' but he ignored it, almost as if he didn't know he had been shot. He got shot four times before he actually died. Many people blame the attack on drugs, like "bath-salts", but if only they knew the truth. They couldn't find bath-salts in the man's system. He tested positive for LQP-79. The Miami officials deny any existence of this virus, but they don't realize that keeping this dirty secret is going to bite them later. LQP-79 seems to have been forgotten, until ten years later. Years later, people attack Jerusalem, and declare war against the Jews. This makes God extremely angry. When LQP-79 resurfaces in 2022, ten years later, as a result of God's wrath, people scramble to find a cure, knowing that this virus is extremely capable of becoming airborne. It is then, that people realize that this virus is a lot more than they can handle. I wasn't going to trust some random dying person I met on the streets. "If you gonna be a good leader...you don't want this to happen to your group..." The man said. "I'm not a leader..." I said to him. "You don't see yourself as one...but it sure does sound like your people do." The man said to me. "I'm sorry but---" I started to say but the man just started talking again. "You're not dealing with any old trigger happy man...that's for sure." The man said chuckling. "You're dealing with the man that rapes his sister, sliced a man's ear off, and hangs children over a crowd a risers." The man said. Trust and bonds are starting to form between the characters. They all thought they had this new world figured out, but they were all far from that. Friendships are formed and some grow stronger, and some are simply ruined. The group finds themselves second guessing who they can trust after the death of Julia. What will happen when the group finds Jackson? What will they do to him?

The Wildfire Virus. That's the illness the eggheads have called dubbed that has spread alarmingly fast all over the world. No could figure out at first how and where it came from or how even spread so quickly. I was on leave, visiting brother in Boston when the infection hit. Yesterday, the world was normal with its own conflicts. The next, millions get sick, hospitals are overwhelmed, and any sort of space was converted into a makeshift hospital to handle all the sick. On day 2 the sick died and awoke attacking the living. I tried to get out of the city, but the military closed off every major access point and now I'm trapped within, along with millions of undead. I woke to a sudden breeze invading the warmth from the heavy blanket that caressed my skin. Here, alone with my thoughts, the still, calm quiet in the atmosphere is almost painful. I feel suffocated in the clingy, static air. In quiet, still moments like these, I can almost feel Him. I don't know who "Him" is, but I can feel his presence. It's almost calming, especially on fearful, anxiety fueled nights. Usually, he was the strongest when I had a nightmare. The nightmares weren't as common now, but, right after everything happened, I was having them every night. I'd wake up and swear I was drenched in blood, my eyes and lips sticky, my nose filled with the smell of iron and fuel. After everything, that's when Him first came. From there, he just never left. I can usually sense when Him is near. Today, though, his presence is stronger. I can almost feel Him next to me, weighing down the mattress. Some nights, I roll over and imagine how he looks, envision his smile or the sparkle in his eyes. He's never there and I'm left clutching to the thought that he exists, staring into empty air. Tonight, though, I swear I can reach out and touch him. Extending my hand gently, I sweep my hand out into the darkness and meet an inexplicable warmth. A scream rips from my lungs as hands cover my face and two icy blue eyes stare back at me, daring me to speak again. A soft cloth caressed my nose and mouth before I felt myself fade into bed.
