What should I feel right now? Heartbroken, anger, betrayal? Why couldn't life be easier? I looked up, a bright sign greeted me. Mom and Pop's Milkshake Shoppe...
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      After witnessing her boyfriend making out with another girl, Michelle Wong stumbles into a quaint cafe, never intending to be gulping down milkshakes with a complete, but handsome, stranger.
      Scott Chazan sat at a stool, silently drinking his milkshake, not knowing that the girl that walks through the door would someday know everything about his secluded little self.
"So, let me get this straight. You stomped all over his paperwork?" She started. "Not intentionally, but yes," I confirmed it. "Threw a drink in his face?" She added. "Expensive red wine." I described. "Rammed into his car with yours deliberately?" she counted on her third finger. "Um...I'm not proud of that one," I said cringing. "And called him offensive names?" She ended the list and I winced. "Twice." I specified. "And you're still alive?" She blinked, looking genuinely surprised. "Geez, don't be dramatic or anything..." I frowned at her hyperbolic statement. "Maybe he's keeping you around to get revenge." She suggested. Possible. I wouldn't put it past him. "I didn't know alright!" I exclaimed. "Let's hope that excuse is acceptable.." She was merely amused. "Working with my new boss is going to be a piece of work." ** Synopsis: When the CEO of Signature Heights: Jensen Black, and a stubborn employee: Alexandra Brook, clash, it's a battle of wits & a war of perseverance. They are both dead set on making each other's lives hell, but when the story progresses they just might learn that first impressions could be deceiving. As circumstances reveal their true selves and opinions change, things could get complicated especially when suddenly feelings get involved. Who would be the first to concede? Maybe it's not that simple to forgive your archnemesis and maybe it'll result in some hilarious consequences... ** Book 1 of a two-part series (completed).High Rankings: # Funny, # Humor, # Comedy, # Romance, #Billionaire Amazing book, I adore your writing style, and I really enjoyed these characters and story -Reader Fantastic story, believably flawed characters and deft humour makes for a very engaging read, I could barely put it down to feed my children -Reader **
Just when I thought I had escaped Jay's taunting, I hear his voice from the doorway. "Do you have a thing for the new boss? Are you really that pathetic?" He continues his beratement. The shame he inflicts on me shakes through my hands as I pour coffee grounds into the filter. It grows into defensive irritation with little additional thought. "Are you that pathetic?" I twist it around on him. "You have nothing better to do than make believe interoffice romances? Honestly, get a girlfriend or something." "Are you volunteering?" "No." I answer quickly, almost laughing. "You couldn't pay me enough." He shakes his head. "Is that what you do for money? Whore around people doing better than you?" The words come from his mouth with hardly any time for him to have thought them through. I guess insults like this are second nature to him. "Maybe that's why you're after Porter now." "Would you shut up?" I ask, my tone adopting a harsh edge. "Your stupidity is giving me a headache." My finger hits the start button on the coffee maker a little harder than necessary before I turn and try to leave. Jay stands in my way. "And your desperation is giving everyone in this office something to laugh at." He looks down at me in intimidation. "At least keep your diseases to yourself instead of spreading it around the office for money." Nothing is worse than an overconfident asshole. At least, not to Raven, being a single mom is hard enough. Unfortunately for her, the term 'asshole' barely begins to describe her coworker. Jay Forester is conceited, breathes out an insult with every breath, and vindictive for no apparent reason. Every moment spent with him pushes Raven closer to her whits end, and she doesn't even know the whole story yet. But then again, neither does he.
