"Clay." I whispered as he trapped me against the wall. "Lachlan, don't. Please don't." He said as he closed the space between us. "Clay." I said as I inched my lips closer to his. What am I doing? I can't do this. I broke out of his trap and walked away. "Lane? What's wrong?" Clay asked. "Clay, what are we doing?" I asked as I wiped away my tears. Clay came towards me. "Don't. Don't come near me Clay Jensen." I sobbed. "All we're doing is trying to get over her, but the thing is Clay, I can't! I can't get over the girl that helped me through most of my life, I can't get over the girl who helped raise me, I can't get over Hannah Baker! She's my sister and she's never coming back and all I have in remembrance of her are those stupid fucking tapes!" I yelled. Clay inched closer to me. "Lane, I don't know how it feels to lose a sibling, but I know how it feels to lose a friend. Hannah was my best friend and I was madly in love with her. No, I'm not using you to get over her because every moment I spend with you dulls the pain." He said as we came face to face. "Clay, I can't live without her." I said. "And I can't either, but you make living a bit more bearable." He said as he caresses my cheek. "You're one of the reasons why." He said as he kissed me.
Lachlan Asher Baker is now an only child after his sister Hannah commits suicide. He's alone in a town where everyone hates anything different.
