My life is hell. Sure, you may hear that from almost every teenager, but this time, I'm speaking the truth. Family. If you count an asshole adoptive brother and abusive adoptive parents family, then I guess I have that going for me. Friends. What are they? Nonexistent. Happiness. There's nothing but darkness here. My body hearts and my heart is heavy. I can't breathe when in school and I can't be free at home. I'm of no cause to this world and never will be. Why am I still here? "We can't see your smile if you keep your head down like that. Can you smile for me?" --------------- Ayla Wilson is a 17 year old girl who struggles with feeling accepted at home, at school, and life in general. Her adoptive family abuses her with both their fists and their words. She feels as if she deserves every bit of pain she has received and is being given, all because of one thing: she's witnessed a murder of a loving couple and did nothing at all. Ayla suffers on a daily, being tormented by the students and teachers at school along with her mother, father and brother. She hates everything, though, not as much as she despises her own being. Noting how broken the poor girl is, a new kid in school, Jarrod Collins, tries his best to become acquainted with her, only to fall hopelessly in love along the way. With her pushing away from him and him chasing after her, quarrels arouse in the atmosphere surrounding them. Can the two overcome every ounce of jealousy, anger, betrayal, and sadness? Or, will one of them be pushed into their own insanity? --------------- TRIGGER WARNING: This story includes violent topics such as suicide, self-harm, physical and emotional abuse, sexual assault and much more.
