Hundreds of years ago, a spell was cast to decide on which kingdom would rule the earth and the succeeding worlds to come. Angels and demons have been fighting for dominance since the beginning of their existence and with this new powerful creature being promised to them, they have been at each other's throats more than ever.
But when Nico Di Angelo sprouts his wings and tail, how could Will Solace turn his best friend in to the Angel king? On the last new moon of Nico's 15th year on Earth, he would be killed to close the dimensional portal to the demon world.
Will Nico save the angels? Or watch as the heavens rain tears to show them the pain that they had caused him.

Nico felt like Icarus. Fly too close to the sun, and your wings will melt. Fly too close to the sea, your wings will grow heavy. Nico had already flown too close to the sea. He had allowed his infatuation with Percy to rule his life, his decisions, for far to many years. His wings had grown heavy, and he'd drowned. Icarus had made a mistake. He strayed too far, entranced by the kindness of the light. The dark wouldn't be as welcoming, ushering you in with no hesitancy and crossed arms. That didn't work out so well for Icarus. So, Nico would allow this filter, this light, to cover him, shroud him in kindness, and possibility, and warmth. But he would not cross further.
