"Who knew being nice to someone, would change my world forever?"

When shy but friendly, high school student, Riley Evans meets new kid Daniel Young, she has no idea what is in store. She never thought feelings would come out of a simple but kind gesture of introducing herself to him. However even though she tries to deny it, her feelings soon become to hard to ignore. With the help from her advice giving cousins, Alex and Jolene, she gets the courage to tell him how she truly feels about him. Daniel's response causes Riley to create new experiences, gain confidence, courage and what being alone really means. Most importantly she learns how to be herself.

The story starts off slowly but it will pick up quickly with shocking twist and surprises. There will also be quotes and songs that go along with each chapter. I hope you enjoy reading my story. This is the rough draft, I will be working on the final product once the story is completely.

Book 1 of the "Used to Be" Series Scarlett Fisher: the school's resident mean girl. Beautiful, smart (but doesn't let people know), charismatic, confident (or at least that's what everyone thinks.) The truth is, she's scared, Scared that one day people will see past her smile and charm, and see the person she really is on the inside. Scared that someone will remember who she used to be. ~•~ Now I know I seem like a bitch, and your probably thinking I'm your stereotypical mean girl, but I wasn't always like this, back when high school first started. I had a best friend who I thought I would be friends with forever. I was shy and timid, and I was foolish enough to believe what people told me. Back then everyone knew me as Arora. After the incident I decided to stop going by my first name, I had also learned that being mean, and not taking anything form anyone was the only way to get people to treat you with respect. ~•~ Arora Fisher: the girl most people didn't notice until they needed help with homework, the girl who was voted most likely to disappear and no one would notice. The girl who her believed in the good in others, who wanted to just give people a chance, no matter how many red flags. The girl who was lost to tragedy. ~•~ "We'll be broken together." He try's to smile, but he can't manage it and I nod, knowing how much pain he feels. "We'll be broken together." I whisper, after that we sit there, in an empty silence, neither of us wanting to be the first one to speak again, because it feels off, like the sound of our own voices might somehow break our hearts more.

Loneliness is nothing new to Elena Kinsley. She had to grow up pretty quickly when her dad left her to work abroad, and she's taken care of herself from an unreasonably young age. Her only constant goal was success. Safe to say it didn't leave much time for fun, let alone relationships. In the summer before Senior year, Elena receives a job offer. Babysitting for a rich family in her city. Nothing could possibly go wrong, right? Wrong. It's not until her first day does she realise that the family belongs to Parker Ashford, Preston High School's golden boy. Parker is hot, stubborn, arrogant, and Elena can't help but be drawn to him, no matter how hard they both try to resist.
