Some people will go to extraordinary lengths for money and power. For greed. But there's always an immovable line no one should venture past. So when a company decides to gamble with nature, there's bound to be consequences. The serum was invented, and its purpose was fulfilled. It had altered life, but the end result was far from expected. Humans had been replaced by monsters. Now, mutants overrun the earth. Twisted shells of never ending hunger where there had been men, women, children - bright live lost too soon. It was almost impossible to remember a past before this hell. Or see a future free from this. Among the survivors are Eliza and Brandon, ex police officers who, through skills and sheer luck, have fought and lived and, through circumstances, have been brought together. They were soldiers fighting on the same side of the war. Finally, a chance of escape had appeared, in the form of a radio message. They were so close. Only a stretch of road separated them from safety. But in a world like this, nothing ever quite follows expectations.

"With the reward he got for his wickedness, Judas bought a field; there he fell headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines spilled out. Everyone in Jerusalem heard about this, so they called that field in their language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood." Acts 1:18-19 ••• The year is 2100. North America and Asia are at war. After an unknown source pisses off the newly acquired leaders, Asian military forces release their biggest weapons on the opposing continent with absolutely no mercy: 6 one hundred megaton nuclear bombs. 90% of the population is destroyed. The only ones to survive are those on the outskirts: the small ring-like areas blown apart but unaffected by the radiation. One of those people is Alexandra Blake. Bruised and desperate, she must fight her way through the wreckage to find her family. She meets several others along the way, including a scarred, beautiful boy named Luke and his clan of warriors. But as tensions rise, the death toll does too, and it becomes clear that her family is the least of Alex's problems. There's something bigger going on, something massive, somehow involving Luke and the soldiers he leads. Tangled up in the mess, there's nothing she can do but sit back and watch it all unfold. 2016 @ psychxtichemmings
