Ruben Vasquez is an experienced homicide detective with a fervent dedication to solving even the most difficult crimes. There's just one problem: he's dead.
In an alternate version of our world, the spirits of the dead have become visible to everyone, walking among the living until they pass on to whatever existence lies beyond this life. In most cases, that makes Ruben's job easier than ever before since victims are often able to provide answers in their own murder investigations. But when a body is found and all immediate signs point to suicide, Ruben isn't convinced, and the dead woman's ghost isn't around for him to question.
With nothing but a hunch to go on, he sets out to find answers. But is there really something sinister going on, or is Ruben just desperate to find meaning in his seemingly endless dead life?

It has been a stressful year for Rain who has struggled to keep up with the workload during her first year of marine biology at University. Now that summer has finally arrived, she can look forward to a long anticipated break and spend time with her friends enjoying one of their favourite pastimes - swimming in the Loch! Summer solstice arrives and they all decide to go swimming in the Loch to celebrate decent weather for once! Rain jumps in first, revelling in the warm but surprisingly cool water. As she surfaces, the summer weather has disappeared and she discovers her friends' lifeless bodies floating next to her. But how could this happen to strong swimmers in a shallow loch with no currents? The investigation commences and it's clear the police are struggling to find answers. Radically they suggest calling in special advisors to assist the investigation - the Paranormal Investigation Team (PIT). Will they fare better than the local police force? This isn't the first unexplained death to occur in this spot, after all this is the same loch where three children were discovered floating dead in the Loch during a game of hide and seek at a birthday party.
