A mere peasant in our kingdom, that's who I am. I never once imagined a higher prestige of living, despite being poverty-stricken but not near beggarly. Above and beyond, I held contentment with my life and valued what it offers. Because I, Elizabeth, an unwavering carrier of hope, a believer in the inherent worth of living, and a person with no more than less, have no more than much as well.
I lived a provincial life with my sweet uncle to take care of me, but the moving world I was once taking turned upside down when I surrendered myself in the arms of an obsessive, royal-blooded maniac; the King.
..................
"I beg of you, spare the life of my uncle and I'll come with you. As you ordered!" I pleaded, disregarding the ground of snow where I knelt becoming stained by the stream of my tears.
"Elizabeth, no! Please, I beg you, Hide!"
"I'm sorry, uncle," I uttered, trying to look at the poor man, brutally restricted, hopelessly struggling to get his ties out. But surrendering is all I could offer to save him. My gaze shifted and landed on the monster in front of me.
"Take me wherever you want, my king. Just please, leave my uncle be."
He knelt in front of me and wiped my tears using his hands. "At last, you showed. I'll take you home, to our home. Hush."
I felt the dark presence of the King as he emitted those words that became my prison. It numbed my heart from the vast and all too powerful realization that he wasn't going to take me home, he was forcing me to leave it.All Rights Reserved
