Steven Universe, a young boy, a hybrid, son to human Greg Universe and a gem from space named Rose Quartz, is part of a group called the Crystal Gems. There's Garnet, a stone-faced tall gem and presumed leader of the group, using giant gauntlets in a fight. There's Amethyst, a short prankster and a reckless fighter with a whip as a weapon. Then there's Pearl, a tall, thin and elegant gem who takes everything too seriously and uses a spear in battle, and last but not least, Steven Universe, son to the group's former leader Rose Quartz, a silly little boy who is clueless and has almost no idea how to fight, but is able to occasionally summon his mother's shield.
