Ohana

It was great to see everyone around the table smiling and laughing enjoying themselves. For the first time since she has been in Hawaii, she felt like this could be home. Pepper smiled as she helped Javie with placing the last remaining dishes on the table before her cousin took the empty seat next to Steve McGarrett. Pepper snickered at her cousin's eye rolling as she took her own seat next to Danny, who noticed Javie's reaction to the forcibly seating next to the crazy Navy Seal too. Finally settling down, Pepper noticed her uncle's cough as he took hold of his drink.
"Oh," Pepper nearly forgot but quickly stood up and everyone grew silent as they put their attention to the Boston redhead, "Back at the east, my family's blood runs thick with blue and, to this day, we keep this dinner tradition going. Whether it be for a loss in the family or a miracle of survival. It was a time to be reminded of the 'No Matter What's' in our lives. As family, we can argue all we want. We can fight with all our good left or right hooks. We can even be stubborn as hell and refuse to talk to each other for a time. But no matter what, we are still family. We got each other's back. We take care of each other. Because we love each other; no matter what." Pepper looked at Caroline who was grinning from cheek, "So here's to family!"
She rose her glass of wine and everyone joined saying "To Family!" Of course, Javie shouted in a beautiful Spanish accent, "Familia!" The whole group cheered and smiled while Pepper sat down only to have her niece give her a big hug.
"You forgot, Ohana!" The little blonde spoke, "It means family, too!"
The group laughed as they heard the timid girl's remark. Pepper's smile grew even more, "You're right! We are in Hawaii, so we should say 'to our Ohana', right?"
"Yes!"
Pepper rose her glass, "To Ohana!" And the crowd again cheered a loud "OHANA!"
