After the battle with Zarkon, and Shiro missing, Allura lost her faith in the Paladins of Voltron. As a result, she took their lions, well, almost all of them, and locked them away in the Castle.

Pidge kept hers thanks to her lion's invisibility, keeping her off the radar. She is searching the universe for her friends, desperately trying to reunite Voltron.

Keith left and went to the Galra, giving up the Red Lion to Zarkon to prove his loyalty.

No one knows where Hunk is, but he's assumed to be stranded on the Balmera with Shay.

Lance was on Earth. He was kicked out of the Garrison and was enjoying being back home. That is, until Pidge shows up with determination to reunite the Lions of Voltron.
