Ruby and Harry Potter were separated at birth. They have never met in real life but they have a mind link that allows them to communicate with each other, they can tell when the other is sad or angry. After Voldemort attacked the people could only find Harry because Ruby had crawled away after being frightened, after a couple hours her aunt Mary and uncle Todd had found her. They had taken care of her ever since. But after 11 years of being separated from Harry, they will finally meet when they get to Hogwarts. (Also Ruby is a metamorphmagus and her hair matches her mood)
