This is the text for a monologue I performed on the 12th of March, 2017. I know I should be hyping this story up, but I don't want to cause distress to anyone who's dealing with depression, suicide, or the loss of someone they loved very dearly.

❝Hello there, this is Teen Confessions Helpline, what's the problem? Feel free to confess anything you like and we'll be there to help you every step of the way!❞ ❝I know this is heavy but I've been feeling like I kind of...want to kill myself.❞ When Damien Carson, a depressed lonely teenager, calls a teen helpline to find one reason not to kill himself, he meets optimistic and bubbly Harry Potter fangirl Eva Adams. And in a series of phone calls, fangirl freakouts, promises, weird slash fanfictions, and bondings over Harry Potter puns, maybe he'll find a reason after all. a story about heartbreak, suicide, depression, love, friendship and two misfits that fits together like torn halves of a love letter.Complete

"Is this...the...suicide hotline?" "I...um, yes?" "...Are you asking or telling?" "...Telling?" "What would you do if I told you I wanted to die?" "I would beg you not to." "Would you, stranger? Would you really?" "I would." Aurora Glass was raised in a sleepy town, completely sheltered from the darker things in life. That's why she doesn't know how to react when she gets a call from a man looking for a suicide hotline. Out of fear he'll actually commit suicide if he doesn't get help immediately, she lies and pretends to be a hotline worker. Parker Hollowell is on the edge. He's slipping into the void, but unlike some he's aware of it. In a desperate attempt to save his own life, he calls a suicide hotline. The woman on other end sounds very sketchy and suspiciously young. Not that it matters. He's just glad someone pretends to care about his life and his problems. When a cynical, depressed man unintentionally lets a bubbly, optimistic woman into his life, he has no choice but to bend to her will and see that maybe, there was more to life then he thought. Don't fear death. It does nothing for you. Death is at every turn; the challenge is if you choose to accept it or not. Don't fear pain. Pain is how you learn. Pain is the side-effect of life. If you live life fearing getting hurt...can you truly live life fully? I've felt pain. I've accepted death. I've lived, I've learned, I've drowned a few times. If all I have to show for it is small bundles of letters and words...so be it. That's more than I could have ever hoped for. Everything that means anything to me are just words. You can put anything into words. Anything and everything. You can put death into words. You can put pain into words. You can put fear into words. And I have. And you can read them, if you want.
