Chaos.

It was utter chaos.

Alarms flared causing all in the vicinity to panic -scattering like ants about the building. Something had caused this particular disturbance. It was an unusual occurrence but it was to be the first of many.

Theodore Storm walked briskly into the elevator after successfully weaving his was through the crowd of panicked co-workers. The elevator was newly commissioned and had been made of pure glass to allow observation, what could be seen were scientists working helter- skelter to decipher the problem. Or at least locate the source.

The elevator doors open as soon as it reached his destination. He gripped his folder tighter than he had before, probably to make sure it hadn't disappeared. He stepped off the elevator and walked down the long hall way that seemed to go on forever until he reached the mahogany doubled door. He raised his hand and knocked twice.

"Come in" said a voice from the other side and so he did.

Seated- pardon, towering over a desk at the far end of the room was the dark looming figure that was known simply as "The Boss". Few knew of his existence, and that was exactly how he liked it.

The boss reclined in his chair gazed coldly at Storm. "Oh, its you" he said, dryly.

Storm gulped, that wasn't the best way to start. "Uh, s-sir we have a problem-"

"Yes, we do" the boss stood from his chair and walked towards the window behind his chair. "I woke up this morning. I heard a siren" he paused and looked over his shoulder at Storm. "Why?" It wasn't a question that needed to be asked twice.

"I-I..."

"You what?" He snapped.

"I know why"

The boss faced him eyes narrowed in distaste. "Well,"

Storm released a shaky breathe. After his what he was about to say, he knew his boss' wrath would surely follow.

"Someone woke up"

You and Me: Caught Up in a Dream - Fate or Coincidence? Katrina stood in the hotel lounge, surrounded by her female colleagues, pretending to follow their light chatter. But her mind was elsewhere, spiraling into the whirlwind of changes her life had taken in the past few weeks. The man who had spent the last year making her life miserable-criticizing her work, undermining her confidence-had kissed her. Last week. A kiss that burned through her resolve like fire through dry leaves. Across the lounge, he leaned casually against the bar, his tall, commanding frame impossible to ignore. His eyes found her, as they had all day during the company's team-building retreat, trailing her like a shadow. He was arrogant, maddening, and yet irresistibly charming. And now, as they all prepared to celebrate the year's end at the Clarion Hotel before the Christmas break, Katrina couldn't shake the pull she felt toward him. The wine she'd sipped earlier buzzed in her veins, lending her a false courage she wasn't sure she could sustain. Should she approach him? Say what she couldn't stop thinking? Spend the night with me. The thought made her pulse race-and her conscience scream. She was a married woman in her thirties, a mother. But she was far from satisfied in her marriage, a truth she hadn't admitted until last week's kiss tore down the walls she'd built around her heart. For three long years, she had felt invisible in her own home, her husband's touch stopped once their son was born. The sound of laughter jolted her back to the present. Her colleagues were discussing plans for a spa retreat tomorrow morning, but Katrina barely heard them. Her nerves tingled as she felt a familiar heat-his gaze was on her again. Her breath hitched. The drinks arrived, and the men rejoined the group, but all Katrina could feel was his presence, so near and yet so charged with tension it made her dizzy. Was she brave enough to cross this line? Or foolish enough to let herself fall?

An alarm bell rang, the main computer's voice sending chills up my spine. Hearing Masquerade Ventos over and over again sent me crashing through my former place of employment. Skidding to a stop in front of an open window, the bounty on my head would set anyone up for life. A breeze blew my shaggy layered hair up, a rich black claiming my bangs and the hair lining my face. Jet black tips tickled my cheeks, my shaking hands ripping off a rope from my cargo pants. Tying the rope around the window's handle, a lump formed in my throat at the rope bouncing done the remaining half of the building. Propelling down gingerly, my slight fear of heights was going to the death of me. Feeling around for solid ground, the heels of my boots hit the cracked pavement. Sprinting into the crowd on the street, a dozen spies descended upon me. Snatching a sweatshirt from a chair, a flick of my wrist had it floating onto me. Disappearing into the bathroom, I hopped on top of the toilet. Dozens of footfalls clicked in, the stall doors blew open. Counting them, mine would be next. Clammy sweat drenched my skin, a group of women coming in causing them to leave. Jumping off the toilet, I poked my head out. Giggling like a bunch of idiots, a polite smile disarmed them. Ditching the hoodie in the trash, confusion twisted their features as I pulled myself through the small window on the other side of the bathroom. Landing inches from my enemy's entrance, a long sigh drew from my lips. He was the only one who could help me bring down my corrupt employer, my fingers curling around the edge of the sewer lid. Jumping down while placing it back, disgusting water splashed over the top of my boots. Closing my eyes, the map of his headquarters played out in my head. Opening my eyes, his face hovered inches from mine.

Sky just poked the apple again and it still heated up the fruit just not to the same extent as before. "Skyler, why is your skin burning fruit and mine isn't," Winnie asked in a hushed whisper. "How the fuck should I know," Skyler asked her friend. She was starting question if this was all just a weird dream. It had to be. Right? Winnie was now trying to poke the apple to see if it would react to her the same way before nudging it to her friend and watching it heat up a little before Skyler pulled her hand away. "Winnie," she scolded really starting to freak out. "What? It was for science purposes. Multiple trials," Winnie responded. "What the hell is happening to me," Sky asked worried. "Maybe you have super powers," Winnie proposed. "Maybe I'm dying from some weird chemical reaction," Skyler pointed out. "Always so negative. Try to look on the up side sometimes," Winnie teased. "What if I'm dying," Skyler asked worried. "It was nice knowing you," Winnie said jokingly. That wasn't what the girl needed to hear. "Look," Winnie interjected realizing she wasn't helping, "You aren't dying. We can google it and find out what's going on I'm sure there's a reason." Sky nodded quietly. She didn't know what else to do. Something was wrong with her. Something in her said it had to do with that beast they saw.

BOOK 2 OF 3 Sequel to Tell Me The Truth - "Violet, I need to tell you something." Phoebe mumbles somewhat nervously. "Can it wait?" "Not really, it's about who-" "Fuck, I don't have time, I'm sorry!" I take everything from her hands and the doorman opens the door to the building for me with a big smile. I don't so much as glance around on the way to the elevator. Usually I would take my time studying the current interior and grade them in my head, but I actually have no time for any of that. I tap my foot impatiently in the elevator and straighten out everything in my hands while I head up to the fortieth floor. I watch the numbers move up achingly slow and barely wait for the doors to open before I slip through them. I head down the hall and see an open door that leads to a big office space. When I enter, I'm immediately met with a warm smile from the receptionist. I exhale heavily and smile back. "Violet Parker?" She asks and I nod my head, still trying to catch my breath. "Sorry I'm late." "You're right on time." She stands from her desk and leads me toward the conference room in the middle of different offices and cubicles. She opens the door and gestures for me to step through. The chatter from the men in the room dies down when I enter and I barely look up at them, just trying to get my stuff on the table before I drop any of it. "I apologize for not being here sooner, I see you started without me." I say with a smile. "Not at all, you can't start the show without the star." A friendly sounding older gentleman says and I smile wider, turning on the charm, and finally look up to assess the room of men in front of me. I lift my head to look toward the end of the table and everything stills. My eyes lock with a very familiar pair of green ones and I feel the color drain from my face as everything around me turns into white noise. "You. Have. A. Crush?" one of my best friends looked at me like I was some kind of an alien from outer space. The shock on her face made me regret telling this to her. I then gave her a sheepish smile but honestly, I despised that look on her face or on anybody's face. Hey! I'm a person too. Am I not allowed to have a crush?! "Oh shut up and let her finish!" I silently thanked my other best friend seated next to me. "What?! I thought she didn't have a heart and now look!" Willow replied blatantly. I gave her a look. "Soooo, what's his name?" She leaned forward. I could feel my cheeks heating up as I played with my fingers. "Okay come closer. I'm only going to whisper his name once." With that, the four of us leaned in together and once we did, I whispered his name as softly as possible. Once we pulled back, there was only silence in our group. I quickly looked down to avoid all the stares. Seconds later, Noah was the first to speak. "Alright. I mean I don't know him so I can't judge. He seems decent," he shrugged and smiled at me. "Noah's right. He's cute and he's got manners." Cora added. I sighed and then we all turned to Willow. She was too quiet. Ooops spoke to soon. "WHY HIM?! Of all people?!"
