Her eyes burned with unwelcome tears, the normal iciness of her irises tainted a slightly darker blue and streaks of veiny red interrupting the whites of her eyes. Her vision had blurred from the salty teardrops threatening to spill over onto her cheeks, so she blinked quickly to eliminate them, praying silently that her mascara wouldn't smear from the liquid. Their fans were singing along as her girl--fuck the labels, Jade was her girl even without them--crooned a harrowing ballad about a secret love. The audience and two of her bandmates had no idea how utterly soul crushing the lyrics were for Perrie to belt out night after night; the only one who understood was Jade, and the small blonde swore that on some nights, she could see tears in her eyes too.
