Claire Reynolds and Oliver Ricard have been friends since highschool but after graduating from highschool Claire hasn't heard a word from Oliver but nine years later when they bump into each other, Oliver is a different man, he isn't the same joyful carefree Oliver she was friends with.

Claire can't help but fall in love with Oliver. Oliver had a crush on Claire throughout highschool, nine years later he still has feelings for her but his priorities have changed, he has a 4 year old daughter to take care of.

But circumstances keep bringing them together and Claire learns about the nine years of Olivers life she wasn't part of. She can't help but start to notice how those nine years have wounded and hurt Oliver. Being a Psychologist she takes it upon herself to heal Oliver.
