When Ever Osborn finds herself at the wrong place at the wrong time with Rider Jones their worlds collide. Rider has made a bet with the wrong people and loses. When Rider doesn't have the money to pay these people turn out to be not as nice as they seem to be. They threaten Rider's life. Ever runs into Rider while he is running and the people he betted with called the 'The hushed' catch up with Rider at the exact time forcing him to run with Ever because now that they have seen him with a girl they think is of an importance to him though Rider and Ever have never met 'The hushed' threaten her life. Ever just took the sharpest turn in her life will she go with him or turn him in?
