  I read but it's not my forte. I do it because I have to.
  Every book follows a specific plot and it's boring. My story involves a series of events that involve my dreams and illusions. 
  
  A teenager is suddenly stripped from his normal life and given powers along with some of his friends.

In an alternate timeline, the human race found a way to create superpowers. By extracting energy from stars and inserting that energy into humans, 'powers' were created. Powers allowed humans to gain unnatural abilities such as flight, invisibility, super strength or in other words, superpowers. Of course, with the introduction of something so revolutionary, people rose up in the hundreds of thousands in an event known as the Great Rebellion. The insurgents banded together under a single banner and became collectively known as the Shadow, marking the beginning of the Cosmic Wars. Out of the darkness, the Gazers were born. Using what remained of the power technology, the Gazers singlehandedly perished the evil and ended the conflict. However, there was a price to pay. Powers put a toll on the human body and had serious mental and physical repercussions. The solution was to recruit children from the age of 13 to 18 and train them so their bodies would adapt to their powers, eventually becoming immune to all negative side effects. The end of the Cosmic Wars brought forth a new age of peace and prosperity that the world had never seen before. However, the long reign of the Gazers has already begun to crumble, cracks showing up within the very thread of society. Their rule will not last for much longer. The Shadow will rise once again. I didn't want this. I never wanted my power. I never wanted to be hated by society because of it. And I sure as hell did not want to be captured by the King. But when a rebellion to bring down the King emerged in our troubled country, I was captured and forced to use my ability to destroy the rebellion. I train with others of my kind to become the force that takes down the rebellion. But my past catches up to me and I don't know if I can break out of its hold. I have a chance to destroy the rebellion that is made up of the society that hates me, but if I do I might lose my last bit of sanity and morals. Though I barely had either of those to start with. I feel like my mind and my heart are pulling me in different directions and I know soon, that I will snap. So this story started out as an assignment for English class and I sorta went overboard. And with strange new powers, the teenagers struggle to live in the unfamiliar world they thought they knew so well.
