Reed Lunguza is a princess. Only she’s not a princess of any country on Earth. She's from Chelsea; a place you can only get to via a portal. When she was just 10, Reed was sent away with her guardian Jenna to live a (hopefully) safer live among humans. Six years later, Reed finds herself walking the streets of London alone. Her enemies have captured Jenna and she needs a place to stay – fast.

Alec Bower is an orphan. His parents gave him up when they couldn’t pay the enormous medical bills Alec needed for his “condition”. He moves from foster home to foster home, pickpocketing unsuspecting people and doing magic tricks on the streets of London to survive. When he stumbles upon Reed, he knows he has to help her.

What neither of them expected was the Spark.
