He's 14 and is in the 9th grade, He's gotten used to being alone all the time. Then, the new kid comes. A new kid who doesn't talk. A new kid who is like Oliver. His name is Nick. Nick is mute according to their chemistry teacher who introduced him. Nick hasn't talked since his mother died six years ago when he was nine. Their teacher pairs them as chemistry partners and when Nick talks to Oliver, it surprises the both of them. A friendship sparks quickly and there are more than just those friendly feelings going on between them. And they both knew it.
