Her aunt found and told her the truth when she was old enough (at 4-years-old) and she has been training ever since. Her aunt told her that her parents died before she could start training and her aunt couldn't take care of her due to her work as an international teacher to young witches. Her adopted father and mother treat her as their own along with her younger adopted brother, Jamie. Now they were all moving to a town in California where she finds werewolf pack and starts panicking due to the fact that weres strongly dislike witches. The only thing she knows about her new life is that it will never be the same again.

Us "maidens" are always encouraged to hide ourselves the most, it's women that he supposedly wants more. However, I believe that that is a cautionary excuse. He'll take you, no matter how old or how young, no matter how innocent or how corrupt, no matter your gender, all it takes is a look.
