This is a dual author story, where the two character's POVS are written by two different people.-In a world where everyone has a soulmate, where whatever happens to your skin also happens to the skin of your soulmate, and where you wake up on your 14th birthday with your soulmate's last name and the date of your first encounter tattooed on your wrist, can love really happen naturally? One pair of soulmates is about to find out. Jay Deane is 14 and knows that he will finally meet his soulmate, a girl whose last name is Barr. Jenna Barr is 12, and doesn't know that Jay is her soulmate. When Jay decides not to tell her, he makes a choice that will change their lives. Three years later, will he decide to tell her or will he keep it a secret after he discovers that the name on her wrist is Cruz, the name that he plans to take when he becomes of age?

In this society, everyone has a soulmate. And the way to find yours is just look. Along with a soulmate, everyone has a small tattoo on their cheek with a symbol. Some could be a star, a flower, a yinyang, a fish, or even waves. There are so many people that the symbols are almost limitless. The tattoos don't care about gender or number. There could be gay matches, and there could even be polyamorous matches. The tattoos will tingle when you are near to your sm. And they will glow if you have found only one of your sm's if your match was poly. The trick is, you don't get the tattoo until you are 16. And even if you are near your match, as long as one of you are not of age, your tattoo will not tingle. Also, they are normal tattoos (except you don't get it or choose it, it just appears) so you can get rid of it. But if you do, your sm won't die but they will get very sick. The main characters of this story, Violet West (18) and Harper Black (20), both have a flame tattoo on their cheek. They live in the same state but for 4 years Harper paniced because she couldn't find her match. She wasn't sure if it was because her sm wasn't of age yet or if her sm lived far away. For 2 years Violet also paniced but she knew that some people don't find their sm for 5-10 years after they come of age, so she wasn't as scared as Harper.
